Venus has more volcanoes than any other planets in our solar system. There are more than 1600 major active volcanoes founded in Venus. Though Venus doesn't have tectonic plates like Earth it shows huge amount of volcanic activity!!! The secret lies in it's layers.
Like Earth, Venus also has molten mantle and hot core. But its crust is much thicker. So it behaves like a pressure cooker. Earth's heat can escape through movement of tectonic plates. But as Venus doesn't have any plates, the pressure of molten rocks build up until it explodes with tremendous force and create volcanoes.
